Co-Founder and Technical Director
Founded HBC in 1986
From a programming background in the 1980s, Derrick ran the engineering side of the business until 1999 and then made the move to Account Manager, focussing on advising and selling solutions to his clients. His technical knowledge enables him to easily lay out the features and benefits of the often complex solutions available to clients in moving their IT systems forward to remain secure and efficient. He is also the primary contact for HBC’s key technology partners and takes responsibility for selecting HBC’s strategy through its preferred products and solutions.
HBC’s greatest asset is its engineering skills and Graham has been patiently and expertly contributing his personal skills and managing the engineering team for many years. Not easily fazed, Graham is trusted by the client base and a pillar of strength at HBC.
Hard-working, well-organised and with a wealth of knowledge in a broad range of technology products, Rob is HBC’s Project Manager. He’s involved in discussing existing and new clients’ requirements and delivering solutions to drive their technology forward in order to improve their efficiency and output. Rob works alongside Derrick to evaluate new products and technologies.
Following HBC’s acquisition of Ed’s company, Networking Fundamentals, in December 2012 he joined HBC as an Account Manager. Initially ensuring that his client base was carefully managed through the transition and his team’s skills and contacts were shared with HBC, he now uses his engineering background to provide ongoing advice and account management to both existing and new clients.

When Olly joined us he took on a Microsoft apprenticeship to build his knowledge and passed with flying colours. He had a natural aptitude to learning about networks, firewalls, communications, hardware and a range of software products. Maybe it's in his blood? After huge progress over the last six years he now manages the Helpdesk in a very competent and calm way. So far there are no grey hairs and he’s still smiling.
