Site Surveys

As part of major network installations, or alternatively prior to commencing a support contract with a new customer, HBC strongly recommend an extensive site survey. This provides vital information on the status of the existing network and helps to provide an overall picture of the required solution. The survey will typically highlight any critical components that are omitted or areas of non-compliance, these can then be discussed with the client.

From the survey a report is generated which explains the current findings and any areas that may need urgent attention. Subsequently recommendations are made which carefully point out how the proposal can create commercial benefits. A network diagram accompanies the report providing a graphical representation of the complete solution, the customer can then retain this as a point of reference on the physical infrastructure of the network.

Demonstrations

On occasion HBC support staff may have the opportunity to present demonstrations of various products to ensure customers that the product will meet their exact requirements, or to demonstrate technologies that have been newly released onto the market and are particularly relevant to specific customers.

Specialised Expertise

Mobile ComputingHampshire Business Computers have particular expertise in connecting geographically dispersed branch offices to a centralised HQ to enable data to flow backwards and forwards between sites. HBC have undertaken several major projects of this nature and have therefore amassed specialised expertise in this type of solution which uses either leased lines or multiple ADSL/SDSL lines to create Internet connectivity between the sites.

Terminal Services is another area of proficiency for the support staff at HBC and a high proportion of HBC customers are now successfully utilising thin client technology which is an excellent solution for remote offices who wish to utilise data at a central site.
