Replace your desktop PC with a Laptop. For only a few hundred pounds, you can buy a desktop-replacement laptop with a large wide-screen display and tons of memory and storage. Get rid of your desktop computer forever and use one laptop for everything. If you crave the desktop experience, plug in peripherals like mouse, keyboard and giant monitor using a docking station.

People have their own preferences, but I wouldn't buy a laptop with anything smaller than a 17-inch screen. You'll be a lot happier and more productive than you would with a smaller screen. Accessories like an extra battery will make life a lot easier, and should help to see you through a tough day out of the office.

Every laptop has Wi-Fi these days, but be sure to look for Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth is the universal interface for the 22^nd century and gives you benefits of linking your laptop to a whole world of devices from any manufacturer with reasonable transfer rates and good range (up to 30 feet).
You can then use that connection for anything from synchronising contacts and media with your mobile (including downloading the latest pictures you've taken and uploading your favourite tracks to your phones in-built mp3) to sending a spreadsheet over to your nearest Bluetooth compatible printer.
